Aviation

Norfolk International Airport

Norfolk, Virginia

 

Master Plan Update

 

blueskies has been selected to assist the Leigh Fisher Associates project team with the assessment of the potential for significant environmental impacts associated with the proposed master plan update at Norfolk International Airport.  blueskies will collect existing data on environmental conditions at the facility and nearby surrounding areas and identify any major environmental constraints associated with the potential development areas on or around the airport facility. blueskies will assist in the preparation of the final document as well as planning and public coordination activities.

Hampton Roads Executive Airport

Chesapeake, Virginia

 

Wetlands Functions and Values Assessment

 

blueskies assisted the project team with a wetlands functions and values assessment at the Hampton Roads Executive Airport (PVG) in conjunction with the Environmental Assessment (EA) for the ALP Development Program by Campbell & Paris Engineers.  The project scope included a four-week detailed assessment of the wetland types located on approximately 200 acres of the facility, modeling each wetland type according to the Maryland Palustrine Forest Model (WRP 1996) and recommending appropriate mitigation for unavoidable impacts due to facility development. blueskies also assisted in permit applications and agency negotiations.

Village at Swift Creek

Chesterfield County, Virginia

 

Environmental Permitting and Compliance

blueskies completed the natural resource inventories and obtained confirmation of the wetlands and waters of the U.S. located on the 175-acre Village at Swift Creek mixed-use commercial and residential community in Chesterfield County, Virginia. blueskies also completed permit applications and obtained permits under the Virginia Water Protection (VWP) permit program and the Virginia Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (VPDES) permit program for the project site.  Wetland compensation and mitigation plans were developed for unavoidable impacts on the project site. blueskies developed the stormwater management plan and inspection program in order to meet permit requirements.  blueskies continues providing monitoring assistance and permit compliance on this project.

Villages at Round Hill

Loudoun County, Virginia

Environmental Permitting and Compliance

Ms. Williams completed the permit applications and obtained long-term permits under the Virginia Water Protection (VWP) permit program and the Virginia Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (VPDES) permit program for the 1,200 acre Villages at Round Hill residential community in Loudoun County, Virginia.  Wetland compensation and mitigation plans were developed for unavoidable impacts on the project site. blueskies has continued providing monitoring assistance and permit compliance on this project.

Radio Disney

Southeastern U.S.

 

FCC NEPA Compliance

blueskies staff completed the Environmental Assessment (EA) in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) as implemented by the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) for seven radio tower locations throughout the southeastern U.S.  The project assessed environmental impacts associated with radio tower locations as part of the radio station license renewal process.  Projects were located in Virginia, North Carolina and Florida.  The project required field visits and coordination with private and federal agencies.

John Rolfe Parkway

Henrico County, Virginia

FHWA NEPA Compliance and Wetlands

Ms. Williams completed the Environmental Assessment (EA) in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) as implemented by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for the John Rolfe Parkway in western Henrico County.  The project was assessed for environmental impacts associated with the construction of this four-lane arterial roadway.  The project entailed detailed coordination with local, state and federal agencies. Wetland delineations and mitigation plans were developed for unavoidable impacts on the project site.
